Maikel Franco, Brad Miller, Scott Kingery and Rhys Hoskins each homered to lift the host Philadelphia Phillies past the New York Mets 7-5 on Tuesday.

Phillies starter Jake Arrieta (7-6) struggled through six innings and allowed nine hits and five runs, yet still earned the win. Hector Neris earned his 16th save in 17 chances after recording four outs to lock down Philadelphia's second win in a row.

Amed Rosario and Dominic Smith each hit a home run while Jeff McNeil had four hits for the Mets.

Mets starter Walker Lockett tossed 5 1/3 innings and allowed five hits and four runs as New York dropped its third straight.

The Mets struck for two runs in the first inning when Robinson Cano hit an RBI single and Michael Conforto added a sacrifice fly.

Kingery sliced the lead in half in the bottom of the first with a solo homer to right.

Rosario responded with a solo shot in the second to put the Mets back ahead 3-1.

In the third, Smith went the opposite way to left and drilled a solo homer for a 4-1 Mets advantage.

Hoskins closed the gap to 4-2 in the fourth with a solo homer, his 18th of the season for the Phillies.

McNeil improved the Mets' lead to 5-2 with a run-scoring single.

The Phillies put up five more runs in the sixth -- an RBI groundout by Jay Bruce to score Bryce Harper and an RBI infield single by Cesar Hernandez.

Franco then delivered the big hit with a two-run homer to give Philadelphia a 6-5 advantage. It was the second consecutive game that Franco homered.

Miller went back-to-back with a towering solo home run to right center for a 7-5 lead and the first pinch-hit homer of his career.

Kingery then was hit by a pitch from Wilmer Font (0-2) and home plate umpire Joe West warned both teams. Phillies manager Gabe Kapler came out to argue and was ejected.
