Anthony Santander homered as part of a 5-for-5 day, Jonathan Villar also homered and Renato Nunez drove in three runs as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the visiting Tampa Bay Rays 8-3 on Sunday afternoon.

Santander homered and added four singles. He drove in two runs and scored twice while Nunez and DJ Stewart both went 3-for-4 to spark a Baltimore offense that finished with 16 hits.

The victory let Baltimore split the four-game series with Tampa Bay after losing the first two contests. Also, Villar became the sixth player in Oriole history to hit at least 20 homers (this was homer No. 20) and steal at least 20 bases (he has 28 this season).

Manny Machado was the last Oriole to accomplish the feat, doing so in 2015.

The offense gave Orioles starter Dylan Bundy some help, which he hasn't gotten on a regular basis this season. Bundy (6-13) allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits in five innings before manager Brandon Hyde turned to the bullpen.

Miguel Castro, Paul Fry and Mychal Givens then combined to throw four shutout innings to wrap up the team's second straight victory.

Tampa Bay went with Diego Castillo as its opener, and he gave up one run in two innings. But it was enough to hand Castillo (2-7) the loss.

Baltimore grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first on three straight two-out singles, the last coming from Nunez to drive in the game's first run.

Nunez then made it 3-0 in the third with a two-run double -- also with two outs -- before Stewart followed with an RBI single. Kevin Kiermaier's RBI single in the fourth cut the lead to 4-1.

But the Orioles came back with two runs in bottom of that inning as Villar hit his homer and Santander added an RBI single that gave the Orioles a 6-1 lead.

The Rays tried to rally in the fifth, scoring twice. First, Tommy Pham doubled in a run before Ji-Man Choi made it 6-3 on a sacrifice fly.

Baltimore then stretched the lead to 7-3 on a Stevie Wilkerson sacrifice fly in the fifth. Santander added a solo homer in the seventh for the game's final run.
