Blue Bombers 26, Stampeders 24: Janarion Grant returned two punts for touchdowns in his CFL debut as host Winnipeg edged Calgary to regain sole possession of first place in the West Division.

Matt Nichols completed 18-of-22 passes for 177 yards for the Blue Bombers (6-2), who had lost their previous two contests. Andrew Harris rushed for 100 yards on 19 carries and added 44 yards on eight receptions for Winnipeg, which extended its home winning streak to seven games for the first time since 2002-03.

Nick Arbuckle was 22-of-35 for 260 yards and touchdown but threw two interceptions for the Stampeders (5-3), who saw their three-game winning streak come to an end. Arbuckle added a pair of rushing TDs while Eric Rogers hauled in six passes for 58 yards and a score for Calgary, which fell to a division rival for the first time in four contests this season.

Justin Medlock kicked a 27-yard field goal and Grant took back a punt 76 yards for a touchdown to help the Blue Bombers race out to a 10-0 lead before Arbuckle rushed for 13- and 1-yard TDs to put the Stampeders on top. Medlock converted a 23-yard attempt and Grant sprinted 83 yards for his second special-teams score to put Winnipeg back in front 20-14 at the half.

Medlock drilled a season-best 55-yard kick for the only points of third quarter before Rene Paredes made no mistake from 47 yards out early in the fourth to pull the Stampeders within six. Nick Hallett recovered a muffed punt deep in Calgary territory, but Winnipeg had to settle for a 10-yard chip shot from Medlock to pull ahead 26-17 before Rogers caught an 11-yard TD pass to close the gap to two with 2:24 remaining, but Winston Rose picked off a tipped pass by Arbuckle for his league-leading sixth interception with 1:38 left to seal the victory.
