Eno Benjamin rushed for a season-high 168 yards and two second-half touchdowns as Arizona State won the Territorial Cup rivalry game 24-14 over visiting Arizona on Saturday night in Tempe, Ariz.

Benjamin had 34 carries as the Sun Devils leaned on their running game in the second half, when ASU ran the ball 40 times and attempted only two passes. The Sun Devils finished with 234 yards on 55 carries.

ASU (7-5, 4-5 Pac-12) awaits a bowl destination, while Arizona (4-8, 2-7) ends the season on a seven-game slide and out of the postseason for the second year in a row. The Sun Devils won the fourth straight meeting between the teams.

Arizona State trailed 7-6 at halftime but came back out and marched 75 yards on 11 plays -- all runs -- capped by Benjamin's 6-yard rush at the 9:30 mark.

Benjamin, a junior who went over 1,000 yards for the second consecutive season, scored on a 1-yard run with 1:20 left in the third quarter, followed by a two-point conversion for a 21-7 lead. Christian Zendejas kicked a 26-yard field goal with 7:16 to go for a three-score lead.

Arizona stayed alive with a 66-yard march, capped by the second TD hookup of the game from quarterback Khalil Tate to receiver Jamarye Joiner, this one on a 2-yard fade to make it 24-14 with 4:48 to go.

After Arizona's failed onside kick, the Sun Devils picked up two first downs and ran out the clock.

Benjamin's second score came after Arizona State picked off Tate for the third time, this one coming when linebacker Merlin Robertson grabbed a deflected pass, returning it to the Arizona 49.

Tate completed 22 of 38 passes for 228 yards and two touchdowns. ASU's Jayden Daniels was 12 of 19 for 104 yards.

Arizona scored the only touchdown of the first half, coming at the 7:04 mark of the second quarter, when Joiner took advantage of a coverage bust to catch a pass, slip a tackle and race for a 48-yard score. He caught seven passes for 140 yards.

The Wildcats had another chance to score late in the half, but ASU defensive back Jack Jones intercepted a Tate pass on a miscommunication with a receiver, returning the ball 11 yards to the ASU 25 with 1:50 left. The Sun Devils marched 69 yards and settled for a last-play 24-yard field goal and a 7-6 deficit.
